Halloween

Here's more photos of her Halloween costume right before we left to trick or treat. Logan was sleeping at the time so I don't have photos of him yet.

Trick or Treat

Here is Riley in her Halloween costume that I made for her. She really enjoys it and wants to wear it every day. She really had fun with trick or treating this year.

Peanuts

A recent conversation between Riley and myself:

"What's dat, Mommy?" as she squats down to inspect Logan's privates after a bath.

Me: "That's his penis. It's where his pee comes out"

Riley: "His peanuts?"

Me: "No, penis."

Riley: "Peanuts?"

Me: "Yeah, ok."

Riley: "I has a peanuts."

Me: "No, you don't. Boys have a penis, girls have a vagina."

Riley: "I has a bagina, boys has a peanuts."

A later conversation in the car, that Riley was having with herself:
"I not has a peanuts. I has a gina. Mommy has a gina. Logan has a peanuts, Daddy has a peanuts, boys has peanuts."

And yet another conversation:
"I a princess, Mommy." Then she names a couple of little friends at preschool that are princesses, then also names a boy.
Me: "A boy is a prince, a girl is a princess."
Riley: "A boy not a princess."
Me: "I know, a boy is a prince and a girl is a princess.:
Riley: "A boy NOT a princess. A princess not has peanuts."

Blanchard Springs

Again we are at Blanchard Springs. That is the spring exit behind Riley.

Ribber

Riley wanted to wear this outfit to this park. I think the other visitors there got more of a kick out of it than she did. When she first saw the creek she ran onto the bridge, incredibly excited, yelling: "Look Mommy! A ribber! A ribber!" Because she wasn't saying "river" correctly of course. "Another ribber Mommy!"

She loved it and so did Logan. This was at Blanchard Springs Park, which is a beautiful park, with caverns, the spring, the creek and small lake with trout, the old mill, and camping, swimming and fishing areas.

Girly girl

Riley chose this outfit. She is wearing the tutu dress I had made for her at 6 months of age. Of course she can only wear it as a skirt now. Then she picked this pink dress to wear on top that I made for her over the summer. To finish the look, she is wearing her brown "suede" boots. Oh, yes, and did I mention that she SLEPT in all of this the night before?

A Day At the Fair

We took Riley to the county fair this week. She loved it of course. She wasn't even scared by the mini roller coaster and she really loved the ferris wheel. She enjoyed looking at the animals, especially chickens!

Fun Stuff

Just some photos of a few things she's done lately. I took her to the lake last weekend just to play in the water a bit. The lakes are still very high from previous rain, even after the opened the dams for many days. Several camp sites are still flooded. But she had some fun in the water. Then she's in the pool at a hotel with daddy. She's nervous about her feet not touching bottom, so she was a bit scared. The last photo is of her as she was watching the fireworks at the BIG show they do a week before the 4th. There's several shows they put on around here and they are all very good, and this one was awesome. She didn't remember it from last year, so when they started it scared her. She grabbed everything: Our bag, her blanket, her balloon, her shoes, the portable DVD player and then hunkered down next to me. It was so funny. I don't know why she grabbed everything. But she ended up enjoying it.

Growing up

First photo is a Father's Day photo. The next one is her showing off the dress I made for her. And the third I just thought was so cute: she was intently watching a movie on tv and she just hunkered down on the floor.

Library

Took Riley to a puppet show at the library Saturday. Turns out it was geared a little more for 4 year olds and up as it was rather wordy, but she enjoyed most of it. Afterwards we went downstairs to the kids area where there is a lifesize sculpture of 2 kids reading on a bench. Riley took it upon herself to get some books and sit on the bench and "read". I got several really cute photos. In some of them she's showing her book to the girl and puts a book in front of the girl.

Easter

Mmmmmmmm Easter Bunny....yum. I tried to get some nice pictures this year during Easter, but not much luck. The top photo is what she did to all the eggs once she found them. What a lovely mess.

To the Park

Another lovely day at the park. This is such a sweet little park. It's kind of old, but it's nice and she can feed the ducks and geese here too. Logan also enjoyed the outing. Although I think Riley ate more crackers than the ducks....

Fun...

A day at the park feeding ducks and geese. Riding the 4 wheeler with daddy down at grandpa's house. A sweet picture of Riley watching daddy on the 4 wheeler.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday! to my sweet little girl....She is three years old today. We just are amazed at how time has flown. We are having a small bowling party for her at the bowling alley this coming Saturday. Two friends will be there and I'm sure she'll have fun.

She's smart, funny, silly, sweet, kind, helpful, wild, sometimes naughty, and is overall just a wonderful person.

She has taught me patience and priorities and how to love unconditionally.

I love you sweetie. We are glad you are here.
Happy Birthday.

Snow Bunny

She didn't stay out too long; it was bit cold! But we got several inches.

Big Girl!

Our little girl is in a big girl bed. Not a toddler bed either--a big bed.
We weren't able to convert her crib to a full bed like it's supposed to unfortunately. We knew we'd have to purchase the rails separately, but they didn't tell us they were some special kind. So when we went o use the rails we already had we found out they wouldn't work. To purchase the rails that go with the bed would cost us $169.00!! And a local place could get us some type of metal rails for it for $70. So we just used the old bed we had and the old mattress. So it was very disappointing that we purchased that special crib which is very pretty and she liked a lot, and then not be able to use it. The bed she's using was my grandma's but I still wanted Riley to be able to use her bed. Oh well.
She's done pretty well at staying in bed or at least staying in her room, but it's only the second night! So wish us luck!

Bowling

We took Riley bowling for the first time today. Bumper bowling, which I claim was for her sake, however it helped me tremendously as well! I am not a bowler and I have only done it twice in my life. I'm terrible, but it was fun for everyone. Art is pretty darn good and I just got lucky once in a while. But Riley had a lot of fun. Her attention span does not allow for more than one game, and that was pushing it. But she had lots of fun. We had pizza and cookies and then Daddy got her a couple of prizes out of the machines. And Logan was so good just hanging out while we bowled. I wish I had brought a camera, but that's typical for me. Riley refused to wear the bowling shoes, so she bowled in socks, which was cute. I'm sure we will take her again and see if she still likes it.

She also got to play in the snow yesterday before it melted and she threw snowballs for the first time.
